It is normally around this point where some climbers will start to feel symptoms of breathlessness, irritability and headaches. After lunch you descend again by 680m to the Barranco Camping area. Reaching the high altitude at Lava Tower provides true acclimatization benefit. The descent to Barranco Camp takes about 2 hours with great opportunities to take beautiful photographs of the Western Breach wall.
